    Our VTCT Level 2 Facial and Skin Care Course

    is designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in the beauty industry.

  • Entry requirements:

    • No previous experience is needed
    • Good standard of English sufficient to complete the course competences and online examinations
    • Access to a computer/laptop for completing homework or assessment tasks.
    • Students must be over 168years old to enroll on this course
  • How long is the course:

    • Classroom Course
    • 4 weeks (and assessments and exams)
    • 10am – 5.30pm (1 day per week)
    • Maximum class size: 4-6 student
  • Course Structure

    To obtain the VTCT Level 2 Facial and Skincare award, you will need to complete the following three units:

    Facial Massage and Skincare

    Health, Safety and Hygiene of the Workplace

    Client Care, Communication and Salon Reception Duties.

    Once you have completed the schedule, you will be set e-learning for the three core units of study in the course, which you will be able to complete at your own pace. Each will include a written assignment for completion. Once you have completed your e-learning and written assignments, you will need to sit a final exam online to fully complete your training programme to become qualified.

    The course covers a wide range of topics, including:

    • Contra-indications and contra-actions

    • Anatomy and physiology related to the skin, face, scalp, and neck

    • Skin analysis, skin types, and conditions

    • Essential skincare techniques:

    • Skin cleansing

    • Toning

    • Exfoliation

    • Moisturising

    • Steam

    • Extraction


    You’ll also learn to:

    • Provide face, neck, and shoulder massages

    • Apply masks to address different skincare concerns

    • Provide clients with the best possible skincare routines


    To ensure progress, the course includes:

    • Continuous assessments

    • Practical assessments

    • Oral questions

    • Tests

    • Written assignments
