The VTCT Skills Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is a nationally recognised qualification aimed at experienced beauty therapists who want to specialise in laser hair removal using IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) or laser systems. This course provides the skills, knowledge, and confidence to carry out safe, effective treatments in a clinical or salon environment.

To enroll in the VTCT Skills Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments Training, you must meet the following criteria:

• 18 years old
  
• You must have a Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy or an equivalent qualification (e.g., Level 3 NVQ in Beauty Therapy, or a relevant advanced beauty course).
• VTCT Level 3 Anatomy and physiology course

🗓️ Duration: 3-4 weeks (part-time, weekend options available)

⏰ Study Hours: Approximately 60–80 hours of training, including theory and practical sessions

💼 Mode of Delivery: Classroom-based with hands-on training in a professional salon environment

✅ Practical Assessment:

• Hands-on treatment on live models during class time

• Real-world practice in a controlled environment

By the end of this course, you will be proficient in performing the following treatments:

Laser Hair Removal

• Understanding light-based treatments and their principles

• Safe and effective use of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and diode lasers for permanent hair reduction

• Skin types and conditions suitable for treatment

• Client consultations and aftercare protocols

Safety & Hygiene

• Laser safety protocols and risk management

• Understanding the legal and ethical aspects of performing laser treatments

• Maintaining high standards of hygiene in a clinical setting

• Whilst you are training with us we provide all the materials you will need.
• You will also need stationery including 1 x A4 folders and dividers to hold for your portfolio evidence and course materials
• You must have access to a PC/laptop to complete the written assignments and any online tasks.

Upon completion, you’ll be equipped to:

• Work in high-end aesthetic clinics

• Offer laser hair removal as a stand-alone service

• Enhance your existing beauty practice

• Continue your education with VTCT Level 5 in advanced aesthetics
